Sessions and plans
Your first message in the Tofu builder starts a session: a cloud workspace where the agent writes and runs your app. Each account has one at a time. The cloud coding agent is 30 minutes a day on Free, 2 hours a day on Starter, and unlimited on the Pro plan within fair use.
What a session is
Your first message starts a session for your Tofu account, with its own workspace: a cloud sandbox where the agent writes, installs and runs your app. The workspace lives no longer than the session. Each account has one active session at a time, and one turn runs in it at a time. A reload, a second tab or another device follows the turn that is running.
The workspace stops when you close the page or the session ends. Switching tabs, or opening the preview in a new tab, does not stop it. Your app is saved at the end of every turn, so what you built is kept when a session ends (Versions and autosave).
Free: 30 minutes a day
On the Free plan, the cloud coding agent is yours for 30 minutes a day, as one session. The top bar counts the minutes down, from 30:00 left today before your first message. The clock starts with the session and runs until it ends, whether or not the agent is working, and it cannot be extended from the browser.
- From 10 minutes left, the count turns warm.
- At 5 minutes, one notice appears.
- In the last minute, a line in the chat says the workspace closes when the build ends.
- Once the 30 minutes are used, the screen says so, and more open the next day (UTC), with the way to a paid plan beside it.
An app you put online stays online, and in your Tofu account, after the session ends.
Starter: 2 hours a day
On the Starter plan, the cloud coding agent is yours for 2 hours a day, as one session. The clock starts with your first message and runs until the session ends, whether or not the agent is working. The top bar counts the time down, from 2:00:00 left today before your first message, and the time cannot be extended from the browser.
- From 10 minutes left, the count turns warm.
- At 5 minutes, one notice appears.
- In the last minute, a line in the chat says the workspace closes when the build ends.
- Once the 2 hours are used, the screen says so, and more open the next day (UTC).

Pro: unlimited, one session at a time
On the Pro plan, and during its free trial, the cloud coding agent is unlimited, with one active session at a time, and the top bar shows no clock. On the Starter plan, and during its free trial, it is 2 hours a day, as the section above says. A session still ends after a set length of time: a notice comes about 5 minutes before, and a line in the last minute. Then Start a new session starts the next one right away.
No AI token limits on any plan: the agent has no cap on the AI tokens it uses for your app.
The Starter plan and the Pro plan each start with a 7-day free trial, and each account gets one free trial: you start it in your Tofu dashboard and enter a card on Stripe's checkout page, nothing is charged for 7 days, and you can cancel anytime in Plan & billing. Prices are on the pricing page.
Fair use
Unlimited is for one person building their own apps, and an account is for one person. When Tofu's cloud servers are at capacity, things may slow down, or a new session may wait to start, so that everyone can keep working. Running the cloud coding agent nonstop, for example for 24 hours, counts as more than one person's work.
A Pro account that has started all of the day's sessions sees You've reached today's fair use limit, and new sessions open the next day (UTC). The whole rule is in the Terms' Fair use.
Asking without a session
A question about your app does not start a build.
On an app's page in the builder, while no session of yours is running, a question about the app is answered on Tofu's server, with no workspace and no session time spent. It can tell you how the app stands, its versions, its visits, top pages and referrers, its recent logs, or who has an account in it.
Asking for a change hands it to a session, by itself or after Start a build. Questions like these have a daily allowance of their own, and the builder says when it is used.
Your apps
Your apps lists every app in your Tofu account, with where its code came from (made here, a coding agent or GitHub) and how it stands, and the drafts made here under Not online yet. Opening an app costs nothing; changing it starts a session, or uses the one running.
Continuing an app starts from the newest code Tofu holds, so changes your own coding agent sent come back too, and the builder says when it starts from a newer version someone sent. An app deleted in the dashboard stays in the builder as your draft, with all your work. A draft is deleted from Your apps with Delete, then Delete for good, which deletes its saved work and history.
Conversations
One conversation per app, there when you come back.
Each app keeps one conversation: your messages, the builder's replies, and a line for each step taken for you, such as putting the app online. The builder brings it back when you reload or reopen the app, and shows it only to your account. What you write before the builder first saves the app stays with that session, and a session's closing screen offers Read today's conversation.
An app's conversation stays as long as the app or draft stays in the builder, and is deleted with it. Deleting an app in the builder deletes its conversation, while an app you put online stays online. Deleting the app in the dashboard does not delete it: the builder keeps the app as a draft. The Privacy Policy has the details, including what each turn sends to the models the builder uses.
What a session does not do
Run two at once. Each account has one active session; a second tab or another device follows the same one.
Last forever. Every session ends, and its workspace and preview close with it. Your saved work, and any app you put online, stay.
Stretch the Free clock. The Free plan’s minutes run from the session’s start and cannot be extended from the browser.
Serve more than one person. An account, and its unlimited use, is for one person, as the Terms’ Fair use says.
